Why I Built This

After 20+ years in U.S. classrooms as a certified Reading and English Language Learner (ELL) educator, I watched how language becomes the wall between connection and isolation. Living in Thailand, I saw how expat couples struggled—not because they didn’t care, but because English wasn’t made for Thai speakers.

Why Thai Learners Struggle—And How I Help

• Most English words don’t have direct Thai equivalents. Google Translate makes a best guess based on context (University of Leeds, 2017 – "Cross-Linguistic Semantics in Thai-English Translation").
• Thai phonetics don’t include many core English sounds: TH, GH, G, and complex blends (Paiboon Publishing, "Thai for Beginners").
• Thai language is gendered. English is not. This causes confusion in construction and meaning (Brown, 2011 – "Linguistic Gender Marking and Cognitive Load").
